Preincubation Units

About This Activity

SVCP students visited advanced preincubation units and an AICTE Idea Lab at a partnering institution to explore state-of-the-art innovation infrastructure. The visit exposed students to 3D printing, laser cutting, IoT prototyping kits, robotics, and biomedical device development workstations. Faculty facilitators led discussions on how these technologies intersect with pharmaceutical and clinical innovation. Students returned inspired to apply maker-culture thinking to pharmaceutical challenges.

Objectives

  • Expose students to advanced prototyping and maker technologies
  • Identify applications of IoT, 3D printing, and robotics in pharmacy
  • Build awareness of AICTE innovation infrastructure available to students
  • Inspire technology-driven pharmaceutical innovation

Key Highlights

Live demonstration of 3D-printed drug delivery devices
IoT-based patient monitoring prototype showcase
Hands-on time at 3D printing and laser cutting stations
Discussion on biomedical device regulation in India
